About Brian Cobb - Company Director
With over 15 years experience in the industry, Brian graduated from The Australian Academy Of Dramatic Arts in 2003 and went on to teach drama there for 4 years. After producing many theatrical plays, both in Sydney and around Australia, Brian’s love of stage evolved into an all-consuming passion for the big, small and even smaller screen.
Brian attended AFTRS (Australian Film Television and Radio School) and graduated from Producing and Screen Business in 2011.
In 2012, one of Brian’s short films (The Last Match) was selected and screened as part of the Cannes Film Festival's 'Cinemas Des Antipodes'. This was followed by another of his shorts being selected for the same festival in 2013 (The Adviser).
Brian is currently producing The Horizon web-series. Now in pre-production for season 7, the show has been an incredible viral success and as of July 2016 has over 45 million views on YouTube. It is Australia's most successful online drama and the most watched gay web-series in the world. The Horizon picked up four awards at the 2015 LA Webfest including outstanding drama series.
Brian was selected in the inaugural ‘Ones To Watch’ program by Screen Producers Australia, and his project The Australian’s Of Broadway finished in the top 3 of the highly contested STUDIO kickstart initiative.
In December 2014, Australia’s national screen agency, Screen Australia, chose Brian in their early talent identification program, ‘Enterprise People’. In 2015/16 Brian will be one of 12 writer/producers to be on a paid placement within the industry to escalate his talent and collaborate with industry professionals.
In 2015, Brian was fortunate to land Stephan Elliott of Priscilla fame to direct a one-hour pilot TV drama episode funded by Screen Australia. And in 2016, Brian produced his first feature film, a neo-noir thriller titled Indigo Lake, which is currently in post-production.
